This sounds stupid I know......but if I have a picture of someone and want to make everything grayscale or B&W but keep the eyse color or something, how do I do it? I tried doing a mask and a quickmask and erasing the part of the eyse but it's not working. |

Duplicate the picture so you have two layers with the picture on. Select the top one and go to Image/adjustments/desaturate . It will turn black/white.

Bring you second layer to the top and select the eyes, now inverse your selection (shift+ctrl+i) and hit delete. Now you have a b/w picture with the eyes in color.

Hope this helps.. _________________ Witam

Make a copy of the layer.

Click on the bottom layer and go to Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate (Or Shift + Ctrl + U)

Then click on the top layer and erase/mask away everything you want grayscale.

Hope that helps! _________________ Best Regards,

Here is another idea. Create a Channel Mixer adjustment layer above the original color image. Check the Monotone checkbox and play with the color channel sliders to get the grayscale the way you want it (Channel Mixer makes much richer grayscale images). In the mask area of the adjustment layer, paint with black over the area of the eyes. This will punch out that area of the adjustment layer's mask, so the eyes will be in color. |
