ive recently gotten into photography and digital imaging and i took some photos and my uncle wanted me to send him a copy. ive been trying to save them in numerous ways to try and keep the file size small while retaining quality. is there a way to do this, apologies for the relatively simplicity of this question.

hi,
no apologies needed.... were all still learning ourselves...

short answer.. smiling... when you go to save
go to file>save for the web ... now once there if you choose the jpg format and then adjust the quality setting...

look in the bottom left hand corner and it will tell you the appx file size as you change quality setting .

note the higher the setting the larger the file size and the lower the setting smaller the file size ..

now if the file is still too large or if going to a low setting degrade too much... then there are some free free file sharing services that allows uploading large files...

now this is a list I put together last year of some free easy to use and in most cases no registration not required

1. these are free file share sites.. thier free no registration required and simple to use...

a. general files-- http://www.senduit.com/
b. general files-- http://wikisend.com/

c. this one i use for graphics ..
http://www.pixentral.com/

2. for email that large attachments that your regular isp email provider can't handle...
a. https://www.transferbigfiles.com/
b. https://www.wetransfer.com/
c. http://www.mailbigfile.com/
d. https://www.yousendit.com/
