polygonal lasso tool issue

hey there. im new here and id like to say this forums seems like a great site.

the issue im having is when using the polygonal lasso tool to cut out images it sometimes decides to auto link to the first point made and therefore i can rarely outline the whole image before this happens and i have to start again.

its quite frustrating. is this happening because a maximum number of lines have been created? or is it just an annoying problem that isn't meant to happen? and is there anyway to stop this from happening?

Welcome to PhotoshopForums!!

So I guess you're clicking away with the polygonal lasso tool and then suddenly it just joins up with the starting point and defines the selection?

You could make sure you're not accidentally double clicking, or holding onto the CTRL key as you like, both these things will ajoin the clicking point to the start.

Could also be a computer performance issue?
