I am a newbie that has been pulling her hair out over this problem....please help me. I made an animated gif in photoshop and saved it and made sure it worked. My problem is that I have a psd file that I am trying to put the animated gif into. When I try to paste it into my psd, it say that it will lose information if i save over it. I do not know what to do?! How do i put an animate gif into a psd?

I tried to go into image ready and save the psd into an html and then open the html in dreamweaver and replace the pic but it doesn't let me either because it saved the psd as a jpg and created an html and I cant put an image of the jpeg that was made in dreamweaver.

I hope that wasnt too confusing...cause I am totally confused now. LOL

Please help me!!!

Thank you so much!

dfwgal,
now I'm not the most experienced member here, but in my experience in dealing with animated gifs you can't add the animated file to a non-animated file. (animated gif to a non-animated psd)
what I have found is that if you open your animated gif in photoshop or imageready and then attempt to add the psd file to it you will have more success.
of course this is all being said without actually seeing the files you are working with.
if you need more help with this, let me know and I'll be more than happy to help

hi,
novice myself.....
now not that great with working between IR and PS ... I use another program for my animated gifs...

but first remember a animated gif is made of a lot of frames....

now i am not quite sure what your trying to achieve...

you can't put a animated gif into a psd file... a psd file can not do animation.... if you tried to open a animate gif in PS yo would only get the first frame ...

however you can copy and past a frame of a animation and paste into a seperate layer of a psd file...

or in image ready under the file menu>export .. you can can export the frames of a animated gif as seperate psd files which you can then bring into your PS .. and combine them in one multi layer psd file ..

now I am probably misunderstanding the issue but that how i initially interpret ...

i hope that helps

I would like to thank jerryb for this part .... I wasn't thinking it all through. You would have to open your file in ImageReady to work on it in animation mode.

I have to also side with jerryb that we don't know what you're trying to accomplish EXACTLY. Perhaps you could post your images here so we get a better knowledge of how to help you.

Mark
