I know this doesnt really relate to photoshop... but i've got about $2,000 to spend on a new scanner. I'm looking for the absolute best scanner i can get from the $1,000-2,000 range.

Any suggestions?

Quick question for the poster - Do you want it to be a film scanner, normal scanner or both?

Depending on what this guys looking for $2,000 for a scanner may not actually be a alot of money.
A decent 3d scanner can run you $3500 at the least, Roland is a good name for 3d scanners, then like the previous poster mentioned, you can go to a film scanner, a decent film scanner is around $1,000 ( Nikon Coolscan V ED Scanner A true optical resolution of 4000dpi !! ).
I havent seen too many flatbed scanners over $1200.
