Is there an easy way to add a symbol to a image?
For example - © (copyright). Or do you simply have to know the key combination in one of the symbol fonts?
Have simply been copying the required symbols from another program but it seems a fairly tedious way to do it.

Thanks for that. One more question - where do you find the palette/dialog box that you have displayed?
I open the character palette but it looks nothing like that and doesn't have the option to see the characters.

I'm using an Apple machine OSX10.5.7 if your on an apple,
what you do is go into finder menu (separate from PS) select Special characters see attach
go back to PS image, (leaving characters in a separate window)
start your Text tool......place it on your image where you want the character(set size, color, etc before applying. Go back to your characters double click what you need ..........bingo!

And if you are not on a mac, PS has this "Shape" in the shapes pallet,

select the shape tool and go the top center of the screen to the little shapes options and click on the drop down arrow and you will see lots of shapes, and at the bottom left is the shape you want
