Hello everyone! First time poster. I'm not totally new to Photoshop, but I'm trying out a tutorial I found online, and the following has just baffled me:
"I then adjusted for contrast, this time by using Levels. Here, I simply brought the LH pointer in quite a bit, to increase the overall darkness of the image, thus:
I did an Amalgamated Layer, and set this to Hard Light at 20%, but then, turned off visibility on the Gradient Map and Levels layers below this one. So what we have at this point is this, a little less vivid and more contrasted than the original base"
(The full tutorial is here. I'm working on the second icon: http://community.livejournal.com/icon_tutorial/10532826.html?mode=reply)
I just cannot wrap my mind around what the writer means by "amalgamated layer." How does one do this?? I've tried searching online to no avail. Please help!
Thank you! |
