Hello to all.

I'm new to Photoshop and I would like to ask a technical question. I would like to know if it's possible to take a picture taken from a vidcap (video capture from a website) and turn it so that it would look like a picture taken from a digital camera. I've put the vidcap to I'm taking about with my question.

Hope to get a quick response and the step-by-step instructions, if possible.

Thank you.

hi,
i was hoping some would answer by now... i am just a novice but maybe i canhelp get you started...

first keep in mind that the pixal deminsions is sort of small... that one reason why things are little blurry .....

and the thing with a image from a camera is that you can have much larger image...

but anyway my thoughts... ithink the image can be improved... to equal a good 4 or 5 megapixal camera image probably not .... remember were only working with a 640x480 ....

1. i would probably do a curve or level adjustment. you'll get some improvement on colors, brightness and contrast . and sometimes alittle sharpening..
2. now i tried using the unmask sharp but didn't get the results i was hoping on this image... so what i used was high pass sharpening... procedures are simple ...
a. open image
b. make duplicate
c. with duplicate active ... go to the layer pallet and under blend click overlay ....
d. then go to filters>other>highpass rgb ...
e. adjust the slide bar for appx 3-5 .. but you can play around with it to experiement to see which like best...

when done you can turn off the "eye" and you'll notice there a fair amount of sharpening that has taken place..

now that the basic... there other things that can be done... but... i am still elarning but i hope this helps.... there several tutorials on high pass... this one here which i have bookmarked for a long is fairly good.. depending on what version of ps you have it shows a cuple of techniques you might want to use and it more detailed..

good luck hope it helps and hopefully the guru's come onboard and give you additional tips..
