I have dozens of images to open and I need to resize them all to be 38mm wide. I don't care how tall they are, but they must be 38mm wide to fit the column widths I need them for. Is there a way to preset the size that the images open in so that they automatically open with the width resized to 38mm and the height proportionally adjusted?

Hi there,
I'd say the best way to do this would be to create an action. You can use the Image Size command to specify a width of 38MM, and then let the height change automatically. The action will then set the width and change the height proportionally. If you don't want to change the amount of pixels in the image then make sure 'resample image' is turned off, that way the change will only effect the resolution value.
Hope this helps
