Well, it depends on what you want to advertise? A good general rule when advertising "Less is always more". Say what you need to say with fewer words. Plus colorful designs always catches attention. However, if it's an image that is needed to be more sharp, try Photoshop's Filter>Sharpen, Sharpen more, Sharpen Edges, etc.
Or try using a different photo, 72 dpi images are great & most common for the web, but not for print.
