I mostly have been using PS for photo editing and printing and had my workspace set for Adobe RGB 1998

Recently I've been doing work where the output is only going to be internet - color monitor only. A lot of the images I have been given are set with sRGB IEC61966. I have been blindly letting them get converted to Adobe RGB 1998 when I open them.

If I now change my PS default to IEC61966 and re-edit those images, did I lose something by converting one way and then converting back again?
