So I am really new to photoshop. I am using CS5 on a macbook pro running snow leopard. I was reading through some of the tutorials about making a signature. I decided to give a try. Right off the bat I am confused. The poster of the sig threads said to open up a background. How exactly do I do that? Do I open up the image I want and make it the background layer or drag it to the background layer? I just started getting confused because when you open up a new document it already gives me a background layer and I don't know how to make my image I want the background layer. Any help or maybe a link? |

As pretty much a golden rule leave the background in place and create a new layer above it, start working on the new layer, never work on the background (there are loads of times to break rules, but.....). You are correct, creating a new document does indeed already place a background layer into the canvas. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |
