I want to copy/paste a portion of the image from the photoshop to the hard drive. How do I do it ??

You want to take a piece of a picture and save it as it's own file?

Use any of the selection tools to select the part you want. Click Ctrl+C to copy, the selection will now be on the clipboard.

Now click Ctrl+N for a new file, PS will automatically make it the same size as the clipboard image. Then Ctrl+V to paste from the clipboard.

All you need to do now is save the file.
