Corrupted PSD. Only ONE black layer, no other layers (was 400 layers plus, nearly 300MB). HELP!¬
To any PS lovers who can really help, please read…
Important concise summary below (with emotional stuff after)
1. YES I regularly saved and on the day in question I KNOW I saved. (Before you ask, there was no back up – long story why I couldn’t during what I was doing, but back on my own computer now, so auto backup restored)
2. The file size was 288 MB with 400 layers plus or more, never really counted.
3. When I view the file on Bridge or other software that can view PSDs, it shows an image in preview, file size etc.
4. BOTTOM, anyone know an answer???
5. I have researched the net thoroughly over past few weeks, lots of people have had the same problem, most posts quite old, pre 2013…. Now July 2014… need fresh hope :o)

I was working on this project for 6 weeks, 2-3 hours per day (not including research). Been a fan of PS for 12 years+, love the software, love my art. Would really like to recover this file. Anyone any ideas?

I appreciate the effort in all your replies, but I apologise if I reply back with a BTDT (been there, done that) response.

Your friend in Photoshop. (I’m CS6, started on 7)

Dee :o)

You may try third-party PSD file repair tools by searching "PSD Repair" or "PSD recovery" online, for example, DataNumen PSD Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/psd-repair/
