				| Hi all,
I have just got a PSD file with a while background layer and a second layer above that which contains a white box in a transparent region. When I try to use brush within this layer I can draw in the white box but not on the transparent region outside of it.
I would like to know how to create this effect. I realize something similar can be achieved using selections but no selections are being used here.

I am pretty new to Photoshop so please help.

 Thanks,
 Satsujin.

From what I understand from your original post, yes.
