Hello am looking to create a coloured sketch its a little difficult to explain. Its similar to this but I want to make the sketch a shade of orange on a black background. I tried going to invert which makes the sketch white on a black background then going to color replace and replacing the white with orange but for some reason that did not work.

Here is a link to what am trying to achieve, however the picture sketch should be orange and the background black.

Any help very much appreciated.

Thank You

Hi delboy,

To change your color from white to orange, try using a 'Selective Color' adjustment layer. In the dialog box, make sure the 'Absolute' button is checked. In the menu at the top, set the Colors to 'Whites'. Next, move the Yellow slider to + 100, then move the Magenta slider to the right until you get the shade of orange you want.

Hope this helps,

Art

1. Invert your image so the background is black and the sketch is white
2. add a new empty layer on top
3. fill this new layer entirely in orange
4. in the layers pallet, find where it says 'normal'. Pull down the arrow next to 'normal' and then select 'multiply' from this drop-down list

your sketch should now be orange
