I downloaded a video as a quicktime movie, opened it as frames, no problem! converted to layers added layers then converted back to frames and tried to play n/g and this is where it becomes a right $*%*, at this point I thought it must be due to the fact that the layers/frames were numerically incorrect. Then off went that light bulb above my head aaghh, why don't I re-number them so I renumbered 431 frames. It still does not work in frames or saved as q/t it only plays the original frames and ignores the one I added.

I am very open to suggestion

All the best
Gary

Did you add your un-original layers to the playback frames in the animations tab? Also you can play you movie from inside photoshop from the animations tab too.
