I need to export quite a few layers from one layer group but each of them should be sandwiched between a top and the bottom (fixed) layers that are not part of the layer group - possible?

Yes this is possible, does you document contain layersets as this makes it a little more complex.

Thanks for replying, but I've managed to modify the 'export layers to files' script to suit my needs.
