hi,
is there a way to paste a selection from one image to another as a floating selection like u can in paint shop pro?

The easiest way (I think) to get a selection from one image to another is by holding shift (so the selection is at exactly the same place) and drag 'n drop.

You can also save the selection to an alpha channel and paste it into an alpha channel of the other image.

Instead of an alpha channel you can also use the quick mask and copy+paste it into the other image (be sure both images are in quick mask mode if you do this).

There are more ways of doing this but I think these are the most easiest/fastest ones.
