I recently had a break in at my home and was able to catch the thief, his car, his face, and his activities on my security cameras. I have taken a still from one of the movies (screenshot) and imported it into photoshop - I would like to antia-aliase the picture (or rasterize?? im totally new at this!) to clear up the license plate a bit and hopefully make out what it says. I've sent this data off to the SBI crime lab for analysis but I thought while I waited I could do some forensic work of my own. I've been told that it's impossible to do what they do in the movies by zooming in and then slowly rendering the zoomed picture down to something legible. Are there any tutorials I could look at? Or does anyone have some advice to start with? The picture is very close to making out the license plate so I hope this works! Thanks everyone and I am using Photoshop CS2.

It's hard to say what would work best without seeing the picture, your best bet would be to post the image here.

Download VLC Player. It's free and will play just about anything. It also has a snapshot feature under the video tab. Works great.
