I have PS CS4, and vista home premium. I am playing around with the Gradient Map, and everything is fine except for one thing. I know I must be doing something wrong but I can't put my finger on it. In the Editor, when I create a gradient with some transparency, the transparent bit never transfers itself to my image. I have tried using the opacity stops to set opacity to zero, and the gradient bar is almost totally transparent, yet this has no effect whatsoever on either the image or the bar in the adjustments panel. There is no tick box for "transparency" such as there is in the gradient tool option bar so what am I doing wrong??

Many thanks in advance.

I'm answering my own question here... a bit weird but now I've found out the answer I thought it might help someone else. The fact is, apparently, that the opacity stops in Grad Map don't work and never have....no-one seems to know why. Why aren't they invisible, or greyed out?? If anyone on here knows, I for one would be grateful for the answer.
