I have drawn a closed shape resembling a circle. I want to fill its interior with the Gradient Tool. But it fills the WHOLE layer. How can I make it only fill the needed area? |

Well you can fill the whole layer and erase around it or use the selection tools to select the interior of the cicle and apply the gradient with the selection active. |

How come Gradient Tool doesn't work like Fill Tool, only filling within closed boundaries? It would both solve my problem _and_ behave logically. |

PhotoShop CS2.
And I meant if I were to draw a closed shape with the Brush Tool, and then drag the Gradient Tool inside it, it would only fill its interior, not the whole layer... can PS really do THAT? |
