I recently posted a request for ideas on how to make a logo for the gaming clan "FireProof Gaming". Now i thought of making some sort of blue bubble magic shield / force field thingy, protecting the text on the logo from some fire. I know how to creat realistic fire, and how to make some awesome text. However i am not sure how i can make a convising "bubble" around the text, that looks like it is shielding it from the fire.

Anyone who knows how i could make this? or any suggestions on how i else could make the logo?

In Photoshop it could be achieved using layer effects, styles and filters.

Outside of Photoshop it could be made using 3D modeling applications.
