How to mix two images in photoshop?

I am thinking of creating a header image for my blog; for I need to mix two images (an image+the background color)

I want to do something like this using Adobe Photoshop.

Can you help me how to do it? I'm not an expert Photoshop professional Bawling

Yeah you can do it!

You can make a transparent image which will be on top of the background.

Or you make part of the background into the image and position it exactly.

Look up layer masks, gradient layer mask etc.

Try layer masking, lot of ways to do it, but layer masking is best
