|
|
I have in my document a green brush-stroke, with very feathered edges (brushsize=47px, hardness=0). I want to replace all of it with red. I selected Replace Color effect, and all is fine- for the central green that is. It becomes red. But the blurry green edges remain green, even with maxed Fuzziness.
What can I do? |

Go up to the menu bar and choose, 'Image/Adjustments/Hue&Saturation' then choose the green from the 'edit' drop down menu, the adjust the 'hue' slider bar to change the green to red, this should take care of the feathered edges I think |

If this still doesn't take care of all the feathering this is easily adjusted by carefully moving the sliders on the two bars of colour near the bottom of the hue/saturation panel. The outer sliders are specifically for adjusting gradations of colour. I would respecfully disagree with salvadore slightly in that I would use a hue/saturation adjustment layer so it's easier to come back later and tweak it.
Finally, may I point out that you would not have had thias problem if you had made that green stroke on a NEW LAYER...Always use a new blank layer so you can easily change it afterwards. Trying to make a selction with feathering is a nightmare. Cheers. |

Great points vampirelover.
yes always use layers, because now if you do this application of hue/saturation, either vie the menu or adjustment layer, you will be changing all the green to red in your image :{
And yes, adjustment layers are the way to go, if you plan on keeping a master psd file. but if you just need a quick edit, then whats the point if you are just going to flaten to jpg format. _________________ For great Photoshop tutorials and freebies, check out www.iammrknowitall.com |
