aloha! i have masked several images of my friend's daughter. id like to have her on a white background. im good all the way to the point where you use the 'move' tool to drag the masked image onto a white background ( which is a blank PS document saved in Jpeg). when i drag it over i end up with a huge close-up crop that fills the entire image of my white background so that you cant even see the white. conversely, when i drag the white background over my mask i only get a small rectangular box of white that fails to cover the entire background area once i drag the background layer below the mask. i hope im explaining this clearly....thank you for any help, aloha! |

aloha,
my first thought on this is that your picture of your friend's daughter and your background are 2 different resolutions.
in each file go to IMAGE/IMAGE SIZE and see what the resolution is. my guess is that the one of your friend's daughter is a larger number than the white background one.
If this is the case, all you need to do is change the white background one to the same size as the one with your friend's daughter on it and they should be fine.
hope this helps _________________ moondog

okay .... hmmm .... could you e-mail me the pictures you're working with so I can see if I can duplicate it or what other steps you might need to do?
it is possible that you will need to FILE/NEW with the proper resolution and size you want for the background all over instead of just changing the resolution.
my e-mail is moondog830@hughes.net

think i figured it out...when i open a new PS doc...as in New>preset> scroll down and on the bottom of the drop down it lists the other open files in PS. select the one im working on and it automatically sets the height, width, resolution to that file. drag over the mask and presto! thanks for your help!! |
