Hi there,
I am not particularly experienced in the photoshop department and i know that what i am trying do must be really easy, can anyone help me?
Basically i have an image (in black) that i have put a lime green glow around using the outer glow part of blending options. Now currently it doesnt have a background, what i would like is a plain black background so that you cant see the image itself but you can see the glow around it.
I have tried to use the rectangle tool and draw over the top but i cant get the image to show up on top of the black square.
Any help would be most appreciated, im sure im being silly.
Thanks[/img] |

The layer with the black square will need to be below the green glow layer. Drag the layer below the other one.
If the green glow layer is a background layer, hold the alt key and double click it in the layers palette, to change it to a normal layer. |

Just a quick suggestion .... should work.
1. Using the 'magic wand' select your black image
2. Then copy (CTRL+C)
3. Then select all (CTRL+A)
4. Then fill with black
5. Then paste image (CTRL+V)
6. Then add your green glow as you did before.
This should give you the image you are looking for.
hope this helps
