Hi

I want to apply a linear gradient from black to transparent using the gradient tool which is easy enough for me to do. however, my shape is an 'S' shape selection (on a new layer). I want to either first draw a path in the middle of the S following the 'S' shape and apply the gradient so that it starts perfectly in the middle of the S (following the contour) all the way through.

The result should be that my S shape should fade to black on one side of it.

Any help, much appreciated

Ricky

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to achieve... you could just select your "s" and create a gradient layer effect across it?
