hi -
i am trying to open a .psd on Photoshop CS that when i double click it to open - it automatically opens the "new" window -- as in if you were already in Photoshop and hit CNTRL-N to open a whole new document

it's acting as if there's an action assigned to open a NEW document instead of opening the actual document.

has any one ever ran into this or know how to get around it?
thanks
ellare

no - ....

here's what happens:
i already have PS open. when i go to the file in the folder and double click on it to open the file - let's say it's called myfile.psd, - a "new document" window opens in photoshop.

just as if you go to FILE>NEW

so instead of opening file myfile.psd - i get the SAME window that would pop up as if i would have gone to FILE > NEW

only instead of automatically defaulting to untitled1.psd, the "new document" window would be name "myfile.psd".

thx

You could just change the filetype to someone that is allowed, upload it, and then we'll change it back when we've downloaded it. But I don't think the admin would really like it though.

If you want, you can just ZIP it and send me an email with it attached and I'll upload it for you.
