I have a 64 frame gif with a transparent background. I want to layer it on a regular JPEG image so that the gif plays with the JPEG as the background. How do I do this?
1). Open the GIF as layered document:
- In CS2 and earlier versions, just open it with ImageReady
- In CS3, pull down "File > Import > Video Frames to Layers" -> browse to the GIF's location -> type full file name in "File Name" field (the dialog pretends it doesn't see GIF's) -> click "Load"
2). Increase the canvas size to fit the JPEG
3). Go to the JPEG image -> Select All -> Edit > Copy
4). Display the Animation palette's menu and select "New Layer Visible in All Frames" option.
5). Return to the GIF image -> Edit > Paste
6). Send the new layer to background (Layer > Arrange > Send to Back)
