I am very new to Photoshop, and in the college course I'm taking we're getting to work a little bit with other Adobe software such as InDesign and Illustrator. Do these programs all work pretty well together, or does anyone have a different Adobe program they'd recommend for using along with Photoshop?

Being from the same stable they all slot together very nicely. I might recommend PhaseOne RAW converter rather than the standard AdobeRAW, but other than that, you're good.
