Hi

I created some social media icons in Illustrator. I exported them as a 64x64 GIF but they look really blocky.

What's the best way to export these icons in Illustrator or Photoshop?

I've attached two of them below and linked to my AI file.

Copy the paths then paste into Photoshop. You'll get a pop-up asking how you want to paste them, either a path, smart object, pixels, or shape layer.
For what you posted I'd use paths. Then fill them in PS.

Thinking you already imported the paths somehow into Photoshop (either as shape / smart object / path etc) and used that to create these icons I think it's in the dither settings you used when exporting your gif.

I do know (file)size matters when dealing with the web and therefore you'd prefer GIF over PNG but unless you have 100 different social media icons on your page you wouldn't really notice the difference with the resolutions of 64*64 pixels.

Hi,

I am still playing around with this. I created a logo in Illustrator 650 x150.

I used Save for Web and saved my file as a PNG 24 . It's too big for my website and a small resolution looks pixelated.

So I opened up the 650x150 file in Preview and resized the PNG to 325x72, which is about right.

This seems like a really long way to do this.

What's the proper way to export a logo in Photoshop or Illustrator?
