So I want to draw this path under some text - it needs to be taper to a point on the left side and expand smoothly to an upward pointing arrow on the other side - it's hard to explain, but take a look at my PSD file you'll get the picture (look at the path that is created in that file):

So you have an idea what I'm trying to do. The problem is that the path isn't smooth, it doesn't taper evenly, and looks bad in general. What is the secret to getting it to taper smoothly to a point and have an awesome looking arrow on the end?

I started by using an arrow from the custom shapes tool set to a path. Then I added/moved/removed points as required to get this result.
