I'm far too lazy to repeat others hard work, thankfully in this case it's been done for you/me ;) Frequency separation is not new but it is revolutionary. There is loads of information about the technique and it's uses if you do a Google on it.

I have a good technique that works for me, I pic the normal colors of my face when i zoom in very close i pick the colors that are not like acne or red, then i blot small normal colors over the acne then i blur around everything n it molds into place and the red is decresed, I have a pic to sho u of me, but i didnt keep the original so u cant really tell how well it worked. (im on the right)
