I shoot a lot of indoor and night sports, and unfortunately, due to my slow lenses, I have to turn the ISO up a bit, resulting in some relatively noisey images. It's especially bad when I have to crop the image much. I was wondering what the best (free) way to reduce noise was, or if it's really worth it to invest in the Noise Ninja plug-in. If it would help, I can supply an example or two. Thanks! |

thehermit is a photo retoucher by trade. He may have some good tips for you. How bad is the noise? Can you post an example?

As you almost suggest speedydave you need some ISO de-grainers - luckily enough I have developed some custom convulutions for different types of ISO grain, there are also loads of free ISO grain reducers out there - hang on a while and I will see if I can dig any up - if I can't I might consider giving you one of mine.
