but who wants to help me install the attachment hack?

Why not just start with the pre hacked files and then if you add any more hacks you can just use those. (Example: Make File Attachment the first hack you install).

I think they're all pretty easy unless the installation isn't written well.

Yeah - they are not hard to install if you read through the install text file.

Well, if you are running a phpBB without many hacks, you could just use the pre hacked files that come in the download and then you could rehack them with whatever hacks you currently have installed.
