I hope this isn't an issue that's come up before, but I tried searching extensively and couldn't find anything about it:

I'm new to Photoshop, am using CS3, and am having trouble with the "Patch Tool" because whenever I select an area to be "Patched over" and drag that to the area I want to replace it, instead of just replacing the former with the latter, I get a blurry combination (think doubly exposed photograph) of the two. Does that make any sense? Anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

Thanks!

hi,
well that what the patch tool is supposed to do....
""""The Patch tool lets you repair a selected area with pixels from another area or a pattern. Like the Healing Brush tool, the Patch tool matches the texture, lighting, and shading of the sampled pixels to the source pixels. You can also use the Patch tool to clone isolated areas of an image.""""

maybe it would be better to use either the clone tool or the healing tool..

Check your control/option bar. Source should be checked, and Destination and Transparent should not be checked.
