Tip: Easy Way to Zoom When Using Free Transform
Have you ever been working in a document and been zoomed way in so that when you went to free transform something you couldn't see all the handles? Well, if you have, you know that it's a pain in the neck to zoom all the way out just to get to them. Especially when you have already started resizing and Photoshop won't let you use the navigator pallette to zoom until you've applied or canceled your transforming. Good news, there's an easy little trick that will help you out with this. Just hit Ctrl+0, and you will automatically zoom to the perfect amount so that you can see all four handles of the transform box. This will work even if you are in the middle of resizing something! It will also work if you are using the "Show Bouding Box" option on the move tool. It ALSO works with any option under the Transform menu: Distort, Scale, Perspective, etc...
When I discovered this little nugget of gold I began using it all the time. Ctrl+0 is actually just the shortcut command for the zoom option to "Fit on Screen", but when you use it while transforming something, the command is applied to that object instead of the document. You can use any of the zoom shortcut commands while transforming an object. They can be viewed in the View menu. Hope this is useful to someone!

What a really usefull tip! free transform is a pain when you have to hunt for the corners, this will save me a fair bit of time. Thanks Wayne |
