Photoshop CS3 saving problem (mac)

Hey guys

I have a problem with photoshop CS3 on a mac. I also have a desktop and I don't have the same problem on it.

When I make a gradient (lets say from acid green to bright yellow) and then try to save it as a .jpg or any other format for that matter, it saves it like 30% watered down, not as bright and crisp, like you would expect it to look with a somewhat transparent white layer on top. The colors lose the contrast.

Like I said, I dont have this problem on a pc. I already reinstalled and everything. What gives??
