I used the above tutorial on YouTube from Gavin Hoey. He uses Photoshop, but, I don't think I can afford Photoshop, so I am trying Photoshop Elements, but, it does not have the same tool selections as in PS and when I got the area selected and used the eyedropper with the plus as the video shows, but, it did not seem to really do anything. When I try to do the adjustment and it has the effect on the entire selection area and does not just affect the areas that I "painted" with the eyedropper tool.
The cursor, when I select the eyedropper tool does not look the same as it did in the tutorial.
I have also been experimenting with GIMP. It is really different from Photoshop and Elements, but, I was able to whiten teeth very well with GIMP. I have attached my results with GIMP. They are not fully complete because I still cannot figure out how to do all the PS things on GIMP.
So, down to my root question. Can I do most of the same things with Elemtents that I can with the full PS? The one thing that I see missing from Elements is the lasso tool, unless that can be added somehow.

PS Elements will do just about everything most users would want and more. I don't use it but I'm sure it has a lasso tool.
Look at the tool bar, tools that have a small triangle in the corner have other tools below the one that is showing. Hover over and hold the left mouse button down to see them.
The best way to start with PS is by looking at the help files.

Great. I found the regular lasso tool.
What about the eyedropper tool on when I change the hue/saturation once I have made the selection. In the video, it is a little tiny circle. When I select that same selection in Elements, it does not seem to do the same thing.
