I should probably know this, but how can I fade on image or layer into another similar to the gradient tool. For example, I have a grid pattern and want to gradually fade that into a plain white background on another layer. Thanks.

layer masks....

put a layer mask on your layer (image that you want faded) then use a black to transparent gradient, and start fading :)

Hope that helps too
