check your printer settings.. there may be something you have turned on in CS, maybe by default, that tries to print the paste board..???

Just a guess?

It might have to do with using wrong color engine.
In your advanced Color Settings, but sure to have Adobe (ACE) selected as the color engine.

I checked and it is set to ACE. I did some photo's last night and now it prints a cream coloured background in any area that there is not a photo on one sheet. I don't understand why re installing the program doesn't correct the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.--Lenny

Try trashing your preferences for PS CS and make sure you are sending an RGB file (not CMYK) to an inkjet printer.
Also, you might want to check the printer’s support webpage to download the most recent drivers and profiles.
(and what does your Info Palette read on those "cream" colored areas)

What pref. are you refering to? Everything was fine it just seems to have happened out of the blue. If I use Photoshop 7 I don't have any problems.--Lenny

From PSCS Help file under Setting Preferences:

To restore all preferences to their default settings:

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop or ImageReady. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

If Photoshop starts misbehaving "out of the blue" there is a fair chance trashing your prefs will fix it.

I get nothing when I do as you suggested. Could that mean that the settings are in default. I did re install the program.--Lenny

You have to hold down the keys immediately upon launching PS.

Not sure about Windows, but I think even if you reinstall PS, pre-existing prefs are used. Someone here in the forum might clarify that.
