Hi
Whenver I start an image with a transparent BG, create my layers, and then flatten it, the BG turns white. How can I maintain the transparent BG?

You can flatten it differently. select all the layers and choose "Merge all" under the layer menu.

well, you could just hit Ctrl+E over and over again it's all one layer. (start from the top layer)
