I'm having trouble with this....
Code:

Options bar. Click on your image and type in your text.

Go to the Layers palette and Ctrl+click on the type layer to bring up its selection. Switch to the Channels palette and at the bottom click the Save selection as Channel-button . Remove the selection with Select > Deselect (Ctrl+D) and go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur... Set the Radius to 3 and hit OK.

I'm using photoshop 7 and I don't know how to use Channels palette.

Its about the same as layers but its well, different...

On the layers window, hold ctrl and click on the layer.

Open the channels window (window -> channels or view -> channels)

Save selection as channel hmm, there should be a few buttons on the bottom, hover over for tooltip, then yeah...
