Ok I got it close to what you had but I'm still not getting the end result the actual helmet I'm trying to do it with. Maybe you might have better luck. I'll post the helmet I'm using see what you can come up with. Thanks

Part of the problem is that this image is pretty dissimilar from the original used for the other artwork.

Here’s a quick try. Had to do more than invert colors.

Can’t remember how (just 5 minutes later.. boy I’m getting old)

I made a sky blue layer above the pic, set mode to Exclude (or Difference?...)

Then tweaked it from there.

[EDIT]

lasa- just re-read your question.

The helmet by swanseamale47 is just pasted on a gradient background. So I guess if you were to Crtl+I the helmet before placing on the gradient, that would work. Is that what you are asking? Sorry for not understanding the question.

cbadland..I'm not sure what I want at this point..this helmet has got ready to string myself up..I saw this thread and thought I could help out..NOT.

I feel like a swimmer that's gone out to rescue somebody and ends up drowning himself...

What I'm trying to do is the tonal inversion you showed on your Sept. 26 8:18 picture, but on Swanseamale47's Sept. 23 1:24 picture.

If I don't make any sense don't worry about it..I'll just sit here staring at the computer..crying...LOL

I was trying for that glass look...Instead I got an ICE carving look...lol

Well I give up... I finally got "something" going with CURVES...which basically inverted things then some...

Oh. That looks really nice. That must have taken some work...

So you selected out the helmet, inversed tone/ color, then recreated the gradient background? Then some transparency? Or blend mode?

Cbadland,..yes on all accounts...the big start was with inversing the CURVES..at the end used the "blend if" taking out both black and whites...finished up with a plastic wrap filter.

Could I duplicate it probably not..

Thanks for the kind words..

anibalenci, I don't know this for a fact but I'd say it was mostly drawn with an eraser. The person made a general dark color foundation then removed color making the blonde strands..definetly has a serious talent for airbrushing.. theirs a guy on this forum named RonMatt that truely understands this airbrushing stuff, lets see if he surfaces.

				lasa,

were you able to get that same effect with the helmet I provided or did you run into the same problems as cbadland did? I really need to get that look on the helmet that I've shown, I just don't know if it is physically possible. If you can duplicate it with the helmet I provided will you PLEASE! tell me how. I will be forever greatful. Thanks
