I wanted to know, which camera do they use to take pictures of models and actors? The quality of those pictures are so good. Is it possible with a film camera? I currently take my pictures with my video camera, do you think by adjusting the lights, I can make a good quality photo similar to the ones of models? One more question. Which one is better way to take picture from movie camera: Record a video, transfer to pc, then take picture from the stills? OR Take pictures using a memory card in your camera and transfer to computer? Thank You

I have seen some amazing quality shots from both film and digital cameras, my personal choice (at the moment) would be medium or large format film 6x7 or 5x4 these can produce stunning quality, but digital is catching fast the Canon d1 is caperble of extremly high quality images as is no doubt it's Nikon counterpart, even the humble Rebel can take amazingly good shots.
Digital cameras have come a long way in the last few years, I would guess the next generation will take another leap quality wise as better chips and CCD's etc become available. Wayne

Thanks for you reply. I was wondering, with a film camera, don't you have to wait until u finish the whole film, and then give the film to the photo printer dude, then scan it to your computer. Doesn't that take a long time? Or am I just missing something that you can hook your film camera up to your computer? Is that possible, to connect your film camera to your computer?

If you process your own films you can just cut off the few shots you have done and develop that, but it's better to finish the whole roll. Remember those shots of the top models are often picked out of hundreds taken on a shoot. Digital does have the advantage of being able to download the images quiclky, if times a factor go for digital and the highest resolution you can afford. Wayne

digital also comes in handy when taking loads of experimental shots because you can just delete ones that don't work out, otherwise with film you have to wait and see how the pictures looks and its just not as easy

yes, but my father has a friend thats into photography and he maintains that the color and quality of a good film camera will still beat a digital any day.
