Hi!

I used to know this technique but I've really forgotten how to do it.

I firstly need to change the colour of an animal's eye. If I change the saturation on the image then the eye changes to my desired colour but I was wondering how I just keep the eyes that colour and not the rest of the image?

Second is the most hardest. It's a white cat and I need to change it's fur to black. I know this has something to do with duplicating the layer, pressing Ctrl+Backspace somewhere (i think) and painting over the fur, but I can't remember the way to do this. Any help would be most appreciated!

Thank you for your help/time in advance! :)

1.) To change the color of something the way you described it, duplicate the layer then change the color. After this, just select what you wanted changed, maybe add a small feather to the selection for smoothness, inverse the selection and delete. You can always use the brush tool and color over what you want and change the layer mode to Color as well.

2.) For this I would make a new layer and paint the fur with a black brush, then change the layer mode to color. Then I'd duplicate the layer with the animal and change the lighting/saturation of it until it's as dark as you'd like, then edit out whatever you don't want changed.
