big to small or small to smaller?

Posted: Thu Oct 04, 2007 8:15 am Post subject: big to small or small to smaller?

My question has to do with resampling an image for the web. I shoot raw 12 mp. Is it better to take a 12 mp image and resample to say 640X480 for the web, or, would it be better to shoot at say 3 mp and resample to 640x480? Would there be any difference in pic quality ? Thanks
