Hi all

I have justed joined this forum with a hope that I can tap into some insider Photoshop CS2 knowledge.

I have a need to make a graphic for a friends business card. The graphic is to be a piece of silk, laid in folds, with a needle and thread being passed through the folds.

The silk I have done, with use of gradients and difference settings etc, and have a very sexy silk looking texture.

My question is now, how do I show a needle and thread passing through the folds of material?

Any advise you can provide will be highly appreciated.

Kind regards
BG

ok, this is going to be real rough. if you will post a picture of the objects to be in your project, it will help alot. however, here is what i did just to show how this can be done and beware, it is very rudimentary.

create background....

make a new layer and create an object, in your case it would be the silk

create a duplicate layer of your silk..and this is where it gets tricky..you will have to somehow crop near the point of exit of your needle/thread..

create new layer and place your needle/thread there

lastly, i moved the duplicated silk layer to top which now covers part of the needle.
