ok when i use photoshop 7.0 or cs i try to fill my rectangle selection (feathered) using alt+backspace except the selection comes out all blurry. im pretty sure this didnt happen at the beginning of the year.
anyone have any help to offer :>?

When you feather a selection and fill it, it will blur like that. There's no way around this to my knowledge. If you want rounded rectangle selections take a look at this topic: http://www.photoshopforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=990
